Sebo and new signing Ugo Ehiogu meet in Murray Park
 
The former England international looked strong and sharp and to totally at ease in his new surroundings.

As you can see on the picture, Ugo experienced what it´s like to defend the summer´s biggest signing in Glasgow.

Ehiogu has yet to finalise his move from Middlesbrough but that is expected to take place within the next few days and he is desperate to face Hearts on Saturday.

When have you found out you would start against Celtic?

 
"The manager was simply naming the line-up at the end of the last training session before the match. That´s how he usually does it. I believed that my time would finally come and it has. I was glad to hear my name from him."

Down to you, what has made the major impact on Smith´s decision to hand you a sensational starting berth for the Old Firm clash at Parkhead?

 
"I don´t know. I haven´t spoken to the manager. He probably wanted to bring some freshness into the team."

 
Kris Boyd has scored 16 goals this season and another key player Dado Prso has delivered very consistent performances, yet they were both wittnessing your predator skills from the bench. Do you consider this a big step in terms of your role in the club?

 
"It is hard to say. But I played from the beginning and we won this important match. So I will hopefully get some credit and my confidence will surely grow."

Your opinion on your performance?

 
"I don´t want to judge my performance. My father is a specialist for these things. I am very happy that we won the game and that I played the main role. Along with my goal against Brasil, this has surely been the most important match in my career and will stay in my mind forever."

As usual, all the Rangers players were booed as they left the team bus at Parkhead, with the exception of Sebo, who was cheered. The same was happening during the match as the Celtic fans were sarcastically cheering your name. Have you ever experienced anything similar in your career?

 
"To be honest, I haven´t. Although I must say that there were similar things during the Vienna derby when I played for Austria Vienna. For me as a player it´s a great boost, which helps me to fight even more. The Celtic fans might not be aware of that. However, for me the Rangers fans are the most important thing. When I hear them sing my name, it feels beautiful."

Have you exchanged the match shirt with any of the Celtic players after the game?

"No. Since I own a few of my friend´s Jarosik´s shirts already I handed back my shirt this time."

 
There was some talking between you and the Rangers legend - FIFA co-commentator Ally McCoist on the touchline shortly after your injury. What was that about?

 
"He was cheering me up and praising me. Ally is a very positive type of a person which has a great influence on a player."

What have been the reactions on your performance after the game?

 
"The most important reaction for me is the reaction of my father. Since he was satisfied, then so was I!"

 
Rangers have arrived in Spain ahead of tomorrow´s UEFA Cup second leg match with CA Osasuna..

 
"We landed in Spain in a good mood after the weekend. We know the opponent will not be an easy one, which they showed in the first game. We want to prove that we belong to the best teams in Europe."

What is the team´s schedule in Spain ahead of the game tonight?

 
"Classic. We will go for a walk in the morning and then get some rest before we will start to get ready for the clash."

Unlike in Scotland, there has been some sunshine in Spain, which for Glasgow is not so usual..

 
"I had some problems opening my eyes (smile). But it´s actually really amazing to see some sun."

Wednesday´s night hero celebrated his first goal for "rouge et blanc" in style, having kissed the tattoo on his right hand saying "family" just before running towards the home fans.

"I would like to dedicate my first goal in France to my sister Martina, but also to my personal manager Michal Matejovic for his 23rd birthday," were Filip´s first words just after the game.

"I am glad I finally put the ball in the net and I hope there are many more goals to come and that this is just a start of something new. I think we were the better team and our win is well deserved. We beat Monaco last weekend and our current form is very good. A look at the league table says it all."

Just after the game against Lille, Valenciennes will welcome Paris SG at Stade Nungesser on October 20th. This could be a very unique match for the Slovakian, who is on loan from Glasgow Rangers.

"Yes, I know that Paris SG´s manager is Paul Le Guen and I am aware of the fact that this game will be an interesting one. He is the man who brought me to Scotland and a goal against his team would have a very unique taste for me," the 23-year old added with a smile.
