Birmingham on vielä erittäin nousujohteinen seura, jolla on potentiaalia vakiinnuttaa paikka Valioliigan keskikastista.
"Temestä" voi parhaassa lykyssä tulla seuran "legenda".
Kuulisin mielelläni perustelut lihavoituunn. Hissijoukkue, kunnes hissi hajoaa eikä korjaajaa näy
Legendaksi ei Birminghamissa paljoa vaadita. Sellaiseksi lukevat mm. Dugarryn. Tähän luulisi rahkeet riittävän, jos malttaa pari vuotta tuolla pysyä. Ja pysyy kunnossa.
Itse pelaisin Villaa vastaan jotenkin näin:
Larsson-Carlsey-Tainio-Bowyer
McFadden
Benitez
Mutta koska lädimaassa täytyy pelata kotona "2 up front" ja varsinkin kotiderbyssä, tulee Villalta persraiskaus.
Seuraavassa quoteoksennus Carson Yeungin mahdollisista rahoista:
Considering Carson Yeung already owns almost a third of Birmingham City, the board's response to his latest takeover approach seemed unusually cautious.
"The issue of the funding of any possible offer will be a major factor in determining how the company responds," said the club in a statement. Why so? Well, auditors for the accounts of Yeung's investment firm, Grandtop International Holdings, a Hong Kong-based business that is registered in the tax haven of the Cayman Islands, give a pretty stark clue.
"The financial statements have been prepared on a going-concern basis notwithstanding the fact that the Group reported consolidated net current liabilities of HK$27.437m [£2.15m] and consolidated net liabilities of HK$65.223m [£5.1m] as at 31 March and loss for the year then ended of HK$91.677m [£7.18m]," they said. "This condition may indicate the existence of material uncertainty which may cast significant doubts on the Group's ability to continue as a going concern and therefore that it may be unable to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business."
Ouch! So that is a loss last year of more than £7m (added to about £12m in losses the previous year, when Yeung paid £15m for his Blues shares) and the company's assets are worth less than it owes, to the tune of more than £5m. Fortunately, Grandtop can call on millions of pounds of working capital (£4.5m has been injected since March, on top of £20m from directors and a share issue in the year to March 2008).
But with Grandtop's revenues from clothing and entertainment businesses having been sliced in half, Birmingham's board are surely right to proceed with caution.
Hui told the Telegraph Sport: "We will become the first Chinese owners of a club in the Premier League. Our business will be idolised. We will be bringing glory to the Chinese people."
Might have this completely wrong but dont think so. I started doing some investigating last night and found the following.....
If you look at the Grandtop website you can pull off all the details regarding the share issue (raising of funds to cover the loan).
I found Kingston Securities as not only an underwriter but more impotantly a share holder (upto and not to exceed 29.9%)
The head of Kingston securities is none other than Mr Li Ka Shing, the 16th richest man in the world worth an estimated 16Billion.
I think there is more to this take over than meets the eye and that they cant say to much at this stage and we should wait and see what heppens. I for one am really excited.
....whereas Carson Yeung is buying us for the love of the club?
Yes Sullivan and the Gold's have made money - but is it really a surprise that primarily Blues would have been an investment - and an investment that they have had to work at?
What evidence is there to say that Yeung would even invest the amount of money/time the current board have? (Yes - I appreciate they have made money now....but it probably would have only been when Yeung brought the first batch of shares that they saw a return).
Surely the way Yeung failed to get the neccessary funds together last time out speaks volumes that this is a man who makes promises that he simply doesn't know for sure whether he can fulfill or not.
To be honest I think it's bordering delusional to think that this is going to lead to the club spending much more than they currently do. If it happens great - but I think fans need to really keep a grip on their expectations.
