It is not too late to switch to the 4-2-3-1 scheme, which was the main one for the Russian national team at the 2018 World Cup and in the Euro 2020 qualification. So far, in these tournaments, the Russians have achieved their best results under Cherchesov: the quarterfinals of the world and a confident second place in the selection.
The option with two central defenders for Russia against Finland looks likely. Most likely, the opponent will defend a lot, as he did with Denmark, when he frankly played the second number (1-22 in shots and 30% -70% in possession), but in the end he won due to a single goal. An additional player in the attack will definitely not be superfluous. The fact that we tried to attack against Belgium in a two-center setup suggests a repetition.
