Miodrag Radulović, head coach of the Montenegrin national football team, said that the pressure of qualifying for a big competition "subconsciously" affects the players, because that is the only way to explain why they have played weaker than they can many times in important matches. which is expected.
On Friday, Montenegro was defeated in Zenica by Bosnia and Herzegovina (1:0), thus losing the chance to win first place in Group 3 B of the League of Nations, after a lackluster performance in most of the game, especially in the first half, something similar to the one against Norway in qualifications for Qatar, then Finland in the current cycle...
"One feels that the pressure of placing in a big competition has a subconscious effect, because that can be the only logical answer. We had all the prerequisites for a good game in Zenica. Many of our fans, out of three possible results, two suited us. "Nobody emphasized the huge stake, the boys are mature, they are professionals, but probably the pressure led to the fact that we were not up to par in the first half," said Radulović at the press conference ahead of the last match in the League of Nations, on Monday against Finland in Podgorica. (20.45).
"We analyzed everything several times from several angles, but I wouldn't talk about it before the match with Finland, those are also internal matters. Maybe it's a little bit of a psychological problem. When we need to leave a mark and a mark, we take a step back. It doesn't happen only to this generation, but also earlier in the barrage with the Czech Republic, then in the matches with Denmark and Ukraine. Why is that so - that is for a deeper analysis," added the selector.
What happened in Zenica is over, in football, says Radulović, there is only today and tomorrow. And tomorrow is the match with Finland, a duel for second place in the group.
Montenegro has enough points for second place...
"We want to finish the League of Nations in the best way possible. That's a win. We would have won the second place in the group, it would have given us hope for the play-offs for the EURO, and we would have taken revenge on the Finns for the defeat in June 2:0. The most prepared and players who can withstand the burden of a strong rhythm will come out. Only the most fit players will get a chance, because we are expecting a difficult field and a difficult opponent, who has been playing together for a long time, who has played together in the 3-5-2 formation, and who has been led by the same coach for many years," stressed Radulović.
The overall impression after the League of Nations will depend a lot on the score in the last match...
"We were building a team and had a vision to use the League of Nations to stay in Group B, expand the roster and homogenize the team... The June cycle was extremely good, we hoped to build on that against BIH. We didn't, but if we beat Finland we will also be satisfied. It will be a success if we come second, if we leave behind two selections that are better ranked than us," said Radulović.
There will be changes in the lineup compared to the duel in Zenica. There is no Adam Marušić, because of the card, Vladimir Jovović is coming back. Sead Hakšabanović, who brought a lot of liveliness and rhythm in the previous match, in which he played the last 20 minutes, will probably play from the first minute.
"He is in better physical condition and is improving his form. We expect him to play a remarkable game," said Radulović.https://www.vijesti.me/sport/fudbal/623113/radulovic-kad-treba-da-ostavimo-pecat-i-trag-odemo-korak-unazad-to-nije-problem-samo-ove-generacijeMyöskin pelaajan, joka tuntuu ihastuneen Suomeen taktiikkaan, kommenttien perusteella 3-5-2:ta

Janković: When and if we will reach the big competition - I don't know, but I know that we want to and that we are trying

On Monday, the national football team of Montenegro ends the third edition of the League of Nations, with a match against Finland in Gorica (8:45 p.m.).
And the league remained unattainable, after the defeat against BIH in Zenica, survival in the second tier was ensured, but the goal is the second place in group 3, which, in some calculations, rather premature and complicated, could perhaps bring benefits on the way to European Championship 2024.
Marko Janković, however, points out that above all there is a sporting motive to win the game.
"We realize that the match with Finland is important. There is always a sporting motive. Regardless of the fact that some matches are of exceptional importance and some are not, it must be there for us, for ourselves, for the coat of arms we wear, and for the sake of the fans," says Janković.
In June, the Finns outplayed and beat Montenegro 2:0 in Helsinki.
"We are playing against a good national team, I like the football played by the Finns more than the rivals from our group. They played the 3-5-2 system very well and if the team playing against them does not set up well, they can have a lot of problems. We know it will be difficult, but we rested and I hope we will be ready for the match," says the Qarabag midfielder.
When asked if the desire to place Montenegro in a major competition has turned into pressure that the players and the team are not ready to bear, Janković says:
"I can't answer on behalf of the entire team, but only on my own - I don't feel any pressure. It's clear that everyone would like us to achieve it, it's unnecessary to talk about it. When we will succeed and whether we will succeed, I don't know, nor I can promise. But we're trying, that's for sure"
Janković is one of the players, who has been standardly good in the national team lately, since the arrival of Radulović, he has been given a role that seems to suit him.
"Definitely my form is on an upward trajectory, after a period of not playing, a period when the situation in the previous club was not the best. I play constantly in Qarabag, it is logical that I am in better shape. Maybe I surprised some with my return, but I did not surprise myself because I always knew as much as I'm worth and as much as I can, only some things don't come together at the right moment. We can definitely gain a lot by playing in the national team, and the national team is an exceptional motivation for me. I'm glad if the public and the coaching staff see it that way. I'm always here to help in every sense, I try to give the maximum," Janković concluded.
