BBC:
Stan Collymore has given a lukewarm reaction to Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets' offer to bring him out of retirement, according to his agent.
Former Liverpool and England striker Collymore, 35, has received two other offers from Australian clubs.
Agent Simon Kennedy told BBC Sport: "In the last year, we've had offers from a Premiership side and five Championship clubs - but it must be right.
"We've had interest from Australia but it's not at the forefront of our mind."
Collymore, who won three England caps, retired in 2001 after a five-week spell at Spanish club Oviedo.
Since then, he has been linked to several clubs, including Southend, who he played for in 1992-93.
Kennedy also revealed that Collymore believes he is still good enough to return to top-flight football - and that would be the most difficult offer to turn down.
"Stan is a busy boy but what he would really be interested in is Premiership football," said Kennedy. "He believes he can still ply his trade at the highest level.
"But people are uncertain about taking a risk on him and, for Stan, the structure and management needs to be right.
"Stan considers Martin O'Neill, who he worked with at Leicester, to be the archetypal manager. He would love the opportunity to work for someone like Martin again. If that transpired then we would have to see what happens.
"We get clubs ringing all the time asking whether Stan will consider coming back to football.
"He is fit, free and only 35. He is not closed to the idea of football - if the right offer came along."
O'Neill is currently boss of Aston Villa, who Collymore played for in the 1990s.
Collymore, who has coped with depression and the pressures of the public spotlight off the field, has recently turned his hand to acting.
He had a minor role in Basic Instinct 2 alongside Sharon Stone and Kennedy said that was also an area where Collymore was choosing his options carefully.
"On the back of that film, he has had numerous castings but we haven't got the definitive role yet," confirmed Kennedy.
"Stan could act for the next 15, 20 or 30 years but there is only a finite amount of time left to play football."
Collymore's other previous clubs include Nottingham Forest, Leicester and Bradford.
