Do you have a passion for journalism AND Liverpool Football Club? If you do then you could be just what we're looking for as a vacancy has arisen at Liverpoolfc.tv, the club's official website, for a new full-time journalist.
Job Specification
Job Title: Website Journalist
Job Purpose: Assist the Liverpoolfc.tv editorial team with the production of new and interesting ideas and features to enhance the content on the official club website –
www.liverpoolfc.tv.
Responsibilities:
# Work with the existing editorial team to generate interesting and innovative content
# Come up with fresh new feature and project ideas which will drive new users towards the site and retain existing visitors on the website
# Assist with the squad and club staff interview process - will include off-site interviews with current / former players and club staff
# Ensure that content in key site areas is relevant, current and accurate
# Liaise with fans over content to be included within the Interactive channel
# Research and maintain statistical information on individual player and team performance
# Provide project assistance to members of the editorial team as required.
# Occasionally assist with match editorial coverage as business pressures require. This element is not part of the core job responsibilities and will involve working outside of the standard business hours
Person Specification
# Educated preferably to A-level standard with a minimum of GCSE Grade B in English
# Formal journalism training - either at University or higher education level
# A detailed knowledge of Liverpool Football Club, its history and current squad and staff
# Previous work experience within a journalism role
# Effective and confident communicator, both orally and in writing
# Good interpersonal skills
# A strong team player with a high level of integrity
# Well presented
# A good attention to detail.
# PC literate with a good understanding of the official LFC website
# Flexible and 'can do' attitude combined with a good sense of humour!
Hours of Work
The standard hours of work (including a 1 hour lunch break) are:
Monday - Thursday (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm)
In the event of business pressures it may be necessary, on occasion, to provide assistance to other members of the editorial team with match cover. When required, this involves working during Liverpool FC home and away fixtures for which time in lieu (deductible from the standard hours above) is awarded.
Salary
The position will attract a salary dependent on experience.
