Crystal Palace manager Peter Taylor said Shefki Kuqi had silenced his critics as he inspired The Eagles to a 3-0 win over London rivals QPR at Selhurst Park.
Kuqi made the first goal for Dougie Freedman and then scored the second before Clinton Morrison tapped in a late third.
The Finn has failed to impress Palace supporters since his £2.5m summer move from Blackburn, but Taylor is convinced he will go on to be a hit with the fans.
"There were a few people concerned about how Shefki had started his Palace career," Taylor said.
"But the players knew what a good player he was and that it would take him a bit of time to find his best form.
"There was a lot of pressure on him today, because it was a home game and he has not performed brilliantly here, but he answered every question and he was immense.
"Shefki knows I have faith in him and I kept telling him that things would come right for him."
