Englanninkielistä materiaalia veikkausliiga.comille

[Maakuntasatraappi]

Kun tuolla Språkdiskriminering -topicissa peräänkuulutettiin englanninkielisen(kin) materiaalin puuttumista veikkausliiga.comista, niin ajattelin että me forumistithan voimme ikään kuin vapaan lähdekoodin periaatteella kehittää sitä täällä.

Aloitan aivan tiiviillä seuraesittelyllä, saapi täydentää:

KooTeePee: Yeah, you got it right, that really is the name of the club. The supporters, characterised by the legendary bearded docks worker, are even more ashamed of the name than you can imagine.

MyPa: You don’t have to be bald to rise in the club hierarchy, but it sure seems to help. They buy their kits from Arsenal’s supporter store.

Viikingit: The coach does his best to look like David Hasselhof in Knight Rider. They would need a KITT to help avoiding relegation, though.

Inter: They’ve adapted their name and colours from Italy. Their web site occasionaly features the most psychedelic match reports in football history.

Tamu: Mediocre players with military haircuts. Nevertheless the number one favorits to lift the trophy.

HJK: The fourth largest club in the Helsinki region, the three in front of them being ice hockey clubs. That kind of tells it all.

TPS: Poor results in the league cup have caused the new manager to lose his temper more than once, which is always kind of fun. Most finns associate TPS with ice hockey.

FF Jaro: The number one in sacking managers and making headlines due to club’s internal power struggles. They try to keep everything in control by having no active web site. A conspiracy run by religious fanatics and commies has been rumoured to threathen the club's very existence.

FC Haka: Their stadium is situated adjacent to the paper mill that owns the club. The mill workers are not too interested in coming to matches.

AC Oulu: The long shadow of a mythical Finnish magic hip Miika Juntunen hovers over the club. The team is more international than Heathrow airport.

FC Honka: They claim to be doing financially very well, yet they have been unable to pay their bills on time. One player is famous in the irc-gallery (a big thing in Finland).

IFK Mariehamn: The happy islanders. Players prepare for matches in a hairdressers’ saloon judging from their appearances.

VPS: They eat raw meat and run a half marathon every day under the harsh rule of their eccentric manager. Results have been over the top. Soundtrack: Eye of the Tiger.

FC Lahti: Propably the only top flight club in the world who play their matches on a stadium built for nordic skiing. Blueberry soup, anyone?

Ainakin oma kielikorvani on suoraan sanottuna niin sekoittunut, että tulos on sillisalaatti jenkki- ja brittienglannin välillä jos ei aivan tietoisesti yritä jompaa kumpaa käyttää...
