The 9th Inning path in MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty opened on October 23, and the biggest decision comes at 275,000 XP. That reward lets you take one 99 OVR legend from the Boss Choice Pack: Milestone Ted Williams or Signature Chipper Jones. Before spending time on missions, check your squad and your current stash of MLB 26 stubs, because the better pick depends on the holes you need to fill rather than the card name alone. Extra missions were expected on October 30, so the in-game program may now show more objectives than the launch version.

Pick the Card Your Lineup Actually Needs

Ted Williams is built for pure offence. He has 125 Contact against both sides, 103 Power against left-handed pitching, 125 Power against right-handed pitching, plus 125 Vision and 125 Clutch. His 82 Fielding and 67 Speed are less exciting, but his hitting tools can carry an outfield spot. Chipper Jones gives you a strong third-base option for Atlanta. You only receive one player, so do not choose Williams and expect Jones to arrive as well. Look at your active lineup, bench depth, and defensive plans before selecting.

The Main Rewards Worth Chasing

The path contains 35 steps and pays 8,750 Stubs across the run. Smokey Joe Williams appears at 47,500 XP, while Willie Wells arrives at 160,000 XP. Both are 99 OVR Negro Leagues Series cards, and neither uses the Boss selection. Early rewards include a The Show Pack at 3,000 XP, a Ballin' is a Habit Pack at 7,500 XP, and 500 Stubs at 17,500 XP. Later stops include a Live Series 88+ Pack at 230,000 XP and the Boss Choice Pack at 275,000 XP.

Build Missions Into Normal Games

The launch objectives award 24,500 XP altogether, and they are easier when planned around one lineup instead of tackled separately. The basic hit task needs 15 hits on any difficulty. Cornerstone players must produce 500 Parallel XP, 2026 Postseason hitters need 20 extra-base hits, and The Show Classics pitchers must record 25 strikeouts. Play vs CPU, Mini Seasons, Conquest, Diamond Quest, and eligible online games can all help. Keep an eye on each card's series label, since Awards and Retro Finest cards do not automatically qualify.

Start with the 15-hit objective.
Add Cornerstone players before farming Parallel XP.
Use Postseason hitters for extra-base hits.
Save The Show Classics pitchers for strikeout work.

Useful Vouchers and a Sensible Route

Owning Ken Griffey Jr. and Roy Campanella from the 8th Inning collection grants a 30,000 XP voucher for this path. It is helpful, but you can reach 275,000 XP without it. Collecting both 9th Inning bosses gives 1,000 XP and a separate 30,000 XP voucher for the 10th Inning path, so that reward does not boost the current run. Check newly added objectives after October 30, then play modes that complete several tasks at once. When you are short on currency for lineup upgrades, buy MLB 26 stubs only after deciding which roster move matters most.
